Well at the start when you're weak, you don't need much money. But when you do, start trying to kill Bob - the pie eating scientist - for some pies while camping at the clone area. These pies heal so people like to bid for them for fun or when they just need the healing. The clone area and pie guy is towards the bottom, on the east side of Capsule Corp. To maximize your time when you gain well off the clones, start by killing the pie guy, then start killing down the line of clones. When you finish off the clones, run back to the pie guy spawning room and meditate, rest or whatever till it repops. Afterwards, when you're too strong to gain that well from the clones, start moving to Junkions and power up to a point in which you can 1-hit kill them. They drop anywhere from 400-1600-3000 zeni a piece. Usually its 400 then 3000, but just keep camping down there if you're strapped for cash. However, a lot of people go there so you need to choose a good time to go when everyone is asleep. Another good way to make money is collecting items that people would like to get. When you have the ability of Instant Transmission(IT), type "instant eel" and this will bring you to a spot where the "Mermaid's Tear Pearl" appears on the floor. Now, since this item has a one percent chance to give you Mermaid's Tear Pearl Earrings, a lot of people will pay for pearls, since they are too lazy to go get it themselves. So, frequently check for the pearl, as it can be auctioned off for some nice zeni, depending on who's online and how generous people feel. The pearls usually range from 10-50k, so its hard to give an exact number. Another way to make money, if you have plenty of time. Make alot of high PL alternative characters (Halfbreeds are a good choice). Bring them to a high rank, and then sell them. You can make some nice money/items by doing this, but it is QUITE time consuming.
